What is platform?
Platform is a new not-for-profit jewellery initiative setup in 2009 to support the UK jewellery trade. We provide a range of support, education and services to the public, designer makers, jewellers, retailers and new entrants to the Jewellery sector.
Our focal point is the Platform Showcase, a brand new destination just a stones throw from Farringdon tube and Hatton Garden, showcasing the best the UK jewellery industry has to offer and providing information on jewellery commissioning and buying.
Platform’s Patrons include Theo Fennell, Elizabeth Gage, Patrick Fuller, Vicki Beamon and Stephen Webster.
What are we here for?
We believe the jewellery industry is no ordinary industry.
It combines high creativity with commercial acumen. To be successful many skills are needed.
We feel there is a pressing need for professional support for individuals and companies at all levels and stages in their careers – including most importantly those entering the industry at the start of their professional lives.
We also believe it is important to educate the public to ensure the cultural heritage and craftsmanship of the UK’s jewellery industry is kept alive.
