Frequently Asked Questions

Why was Platform created?

Established as a social enterprise to reinvest profits back into the regeneration of the jewellery industry in the UK, Platform Showcase will also act as a centre of consumer information on how to get jewellery commissioned, how to buy diamonds and how silver, gold and platinum differ.

What is it offering?

Platform Jewellery Showcase will offer a range of hands-on taster jewellery courses and rolling jewellery exhibition programmes to engage and educate the public, allowing them to go ‘behind the scenes’ and find out how jewellery is designed and made. This new jewellery retail destination brings designers and consumers together in an exciting and innovative way.

Why is it unique?

Many people simply are not aware of the jewellery industry or how jewellery is made because the making is hidden in workshops. So the craftsmanship, the process and the story of how the jewellery you are wearing has been produced is hidden too. People may have little idea of how fascinating the industry really is, how to engage with it or how you can easily have a genuine ‘experience’ and commission a unique piece of jewellery at any price range. Platform Showcase offers potential buyers a glamorous venue in the heart of London’s jewellery centre where they can view and purchase contemporary jewellery, have a genuine personal experience and meet the designer makers.

What events are plannned?

Jewellery exhibitions are planned throughout the year and new designers will be showcased every 2-3 months. As an innovative showcase for the best of British talent in contemporary jewellery, we regularly refresh our selection of featured designers. To find out about our latest showcase, simply sign up to our newsletter or check our showcase page, www.platformjewellery.com/showcase.aspx?, which is regularly updated with the latest works.

How does platform choose its designers?

We regularly visit the latest trade and graduate fairs to find exciting new talents. Alternatively, we also welcome applications from (mainly UK based) designers who would like to sell with us.
