JASMINE ALEXANDER
Obsessed by extremes, parameters and limits, Jasmine believes each one exists to be shattered, challenged and defied. After attending Sir John Cass Faculty of Arts, and ever the consummate maverick, her early years were consumed by poetry (published) and a rock'n'roll nonchalant affection for existence.
2008 gave rise to the explosive fusion of this dualistic and multifaceted love affair: Jasmine Alexander Ltd, and her vision:
discerning luxury for the discerning mind...
Since the inception of her brand, in just 1.5yrs, Jasmine has worked alongside Paul Smith (her first show), exhibited at Kara at the Louvre, Paris (her second show), and has been chosen and funded to show at IJL (International Jewellery London - her third show) as one of the UK's brightest design innovators as funded by The British Jewellery Association.
Her first major collection in 2008 received a wealth of world press, including Vogue.com, Financial Times 'How To Spend It', 2008 Special edition... and ‘Citizen K' 09 spring issue, to name but a few (press currently spans france, germany, spain, U.S and the UK). Her work is often referred to in the press as
‘the Westwood, McQueen or Galliano of British jewellery...'
with jewellery and fashion journalists also hailing it as ‘exquisite,' ‘astonishing' and ‘Avant-Garde'
‘a new emergent on a world stage...'
Not one to be deterred, late 2007 Jasmine lost part of her index finger in an accident, so she built another one... in 18ct gold!
Jasmine was also a nominee for the ‘Bright Young Gems Award 09' voted by two of fashions most esteemed Fashion Editors (Tatler & The Financial Times's ‘ How To Spend It')...
