LEAH MILES

Award winning designer maker Leah Miles creates beautiful sculptural jewellery inspired by the Cornish coastline as well as by her fascination for the overlooked qualities of discarded materials.

Predominantly created from waste paper, her work questions the traditional opinions of preciousness and challenges existing notions of disposability and re use.

Her unique handmaking process hides then reveals delicate flowing lines and fragments of colour and text- a process partly controlled whilst retaining an element of unpredictability.

The pieces function both as wearable pieces of body adornment and as sculptural objects off the body.

Her experimental approach together with her work's instantly recognisable aesthetic have gained her international exhibitions and awards from the Crafts Council, The Association of Contemporary Jewellery, NESTA and the Arts Council England.
