MOON YOUNG SHIN
PROFILE
Moon Young SHIN, a London-based jewellery designer & maker from Seoul, South Korea, has been making artful yet delightful collections of silver jewellery with concepts of human figure and cactus. Her works are not only intricate pieces of jewellery with strong and vivid message but also reflection of her life and attitude towards making and producing, at which viewers and wearers cannot resist smiling, due in large part to fun factors inherent in them. She has exhibited extensively in the UK and Europe since graduating Royal College of Art (London, UK) with MA in Goldsmith, Silversmith, Metalwork & Jewellery in 2008. Prior to her study and career in London, Moon studied Arts & Crafts in Sook Myung Women's University (Seoul, South Korea) where she learnt and explored a wide range of ideas and crafting techniques and subsequently gained her BA. Recently, her work has been selected as one of the four best pieces at "Origin 2009: London Craft Fair" by Grant Gibson. Moon's works have been published in Royal College of Art Architecture Annual, DAMn, and Hanatsubaki.
